At first, it was hard to decide which platform I'd use to get a blog going. But after some wandering around, and looking for alternatives- I just couldn't help and get back into the Ghost CMS.
For the most simple things, I'd want to write about. Not limiting me to open a whole git repository for a static website generator.
All I wanted was to just simply write something that is on my mind, write about something that piques my interest and post it.
No WordPress
The choice to not go for a WordPress site, was quite easy. The whole drama around Matt Mullenweg, ruining the whole WordPress space, by simply "closing down" the ability for people to create plugins that profit (do not push enough code to the WordPress codebase).
It's gotten all quite political, and did not age well. So I didn't want to get into WordPress, plus the editor feels quite dated in my opinion. The themes were quite cool, Ghost for sure does not have that much to choose from.
The theme
As you might have noticed, this is not a free theme. Yes I did buy it, no I did not buy it specifically for this blog.
I am quite an impulsive thinker, I think about something and it will start bothering me. This is where I just try things out, and see the outcome. This can be a good and bad thing, but I try to keep myself under control.
The idea of this theme was to build a cool collaboration blog (impulsive) - inviting people to write on it etc. But this watered away, resulting in having an expensive theme being unused. So here it is, me using it. It's called Flair from "Bright Themes" - it's quite cool, but it lacks features.
